The sailing ship Kaiōmaru, moored at Kaiōmaru Park in Imizu City, Toyama Prefecture, is a historic vessel once known as the “Lady of the Sea,” having undertaken numerous training voyages. It is now open to the public as a venue for tourism and events, allowing visitors to see its elegant form up close.
The sailing ship Kaiō Maru stands directly ahead, with Mt. Tateyama towering behind it, still clutching remnants of snow. The beautiful white and orange hull harmonizes with the arch of the bridge, creating a majestic landscape unique to Toyama Bay.
The meticulously strung ropes and soaring masts symbolize the strength of the sailing ship. Its towering height and sculptural beauty overwhelm visitors.
The Shinminato Bridge visible in the background is a landmark of Toyama Bay, and on clear days, Mt. Tateyama can be seen further beyond. Amidst the crisp spring air, the contrast between the white hull and orange mast, the blue sky, and the snow-capped mountains encapsulates the charm of Toyama Port in a single frame.
