About the photos in the gallery

Regarding some of the photos in the gallery
The photographs featured in this gallery are works I have accumulated over many years.
Using the Epson GT-X970 scanner for transmitted light scanning, we carefully digitized each frame individually, focusing primarily on 4×5 and 6×7 large and medium format films, as well as 35mm reversal film, including digital SLR images. 35mm film was scanned at a high resolution of 4800 pixels per inch, while large and medium format film was scanned at 3600 pixels per inch, saving the files as 24-bit TIFF files. This results in large files: approximately 300-400MB per 4×5 sheet and about 200MB per 6×7 sheet.
Due to the high resolution, even minute specks of dust and scratches are visible. I carefully retouched each one individually, checking at 200% magnification using software like Photoshop. This process took about one to two hours per large format image and 30 minutes to an hour per medium format image, with the entire project taking several months to complete. Only after undergoing these steps was I finally able to achieve a result I was satisfied with. Alongside the challenges of transferring analog to digital, I’ve rediscovered its unique appeal.
For subsequent image adjustments, I use Capture One 23 Pro. I tried several software options, including Lightroom, but Capture One provided the most natural color transparency and handled large-sized data comfortably, which is why I adopted it.
If any photographs in the gallery catch your interest, we are preparing to make them available for viewing through the PIXTA image site. Please note that due to PIXTA’s JPEG format and maximum 50MB size limit, the resolution will be slightly lower than the originals. We will add links from each photo page as they become available. We would be delighted if you would take a look should you be interested.
